Bursaries at Brighton Fringe
Ironclad New Writing Bursary
The Ironclad New Writing Bursary at Brighton Fringe 2026 is open NOW!
Ironclad Creative are offering a new writing bursary specifically to support new theatre or storytelling from writers who are on low-incomes and/or neurodivergent.
The successful recipient will receive:
- a free registration for Brighton Fringe 2026
- mentoring from Ironclad, specifically focused on producing and directing
- social media support (a minimum of three posts)
Criteria:
We ask you to submit a finished script with the bursary application. Written plays, monologues and written text based pieces all count.
However, we are selecting based primarily on the storytelling and narrative.
We know that writing itself might be a barrier. We will read any finished text you have, or you're welcome to send us a video of the piece in full in rehearsal or performance (or to your phone camera).
Deadlines:
Applications open: Wednesday 22 October 2025
Applications close: Wednesday 28 January 2026
